The Morning Shake-Up:
Makenzie Piatt, our morning anchor extraordinaire, is stepping away from the TV news world but staying close to home. After nine incredible years, Makenzie is embracing a new chapter as a mom, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for her. Her dedication and early-morning wake-up calls will be missed, but we understand the importance of family.
Enter Les Shockley, who's been a WWNY veteran for over a decade. Les will be taking over the morning anchor role alongside Beth Hall, bringing his expertise and a fresh perspective to the early hours. Les' talent goes beyond the anchor desk; he's a tech whiz, ensuring our broadcasts run smoothly. And get this, he's launching a live digital show, "It's LIVE, It's LOCAL, It's LES!" - a fun addition to our online presence.
Afternoon and Evening Anchors:
Garrett Domblewski, a WWNY stalwart for a decade, is moving to the anchor desk for First at Five. Saying goodbye to John Moore, who's semi-retiring, we welcome Garrett's experience and his role as Assistant News Director. Chad Charette, known for his storytelling skills, is promoted to anchor 7News Tonight, bringing his talent to late-night broadcasts.
New Talent Joins the Team:
Elizabeth Gabbert is our newest addition, joining as a news producer. Hailing from Nashville, Elizabeth brings fresh energy and experience to our newsroom. We're thrilled to have her on board!
A Fond Farewell and a Continued Journey:
John Moore, a familiar face, is semi-retiring but not leaving us completely. He'll still be reporting a couple of days a week, and we're grateful for his continued presence in St. Lawrence County.
